A Word From Our Founder

Mental health in Zambia is talked about — on whispers, on social media, if it is talked about at all. Young people are suffering in private — in schools, in homes, in communities — with no trusted space to say "Sinilibwino," meaning "I am not okay." I started Care Circle Zambia because I have seen, up close, what happens when someone reaches a breaking point and there is nowhere safe to turn. We are building the spaces, the training, and the referral pathways that should already exist — so that no young person has to carry their pain alone, and so that "I am not okay" becomes something that can be said out loud, and answered with care. This work is bigger than any one of us. It takes educators willing to be trained, communities willing to talk, partners willing to invest, and young people willing to become ambassadors for their peers. Thank you for being part of that circle.
